The Winemaker

Graeme Bertuch

Graeme Bertuch is no stranger to wine making, having won the Best Victorian Dry Red award at the Melbourne Show in 1985 with a 1984 Grampians Shiraz. After 'retiring' in the early 1990's, he has made a return to winemaking with grapes from Mount Cole.

He is a full time Doctor in Ararat, having lived and worked there for thirty six years.

Graeme is also a member of that Ararat Wine Co-operative operating out of N.M.I.T winery at Aradale. The Cooperative was established under the auspices of Ararat Rural Citu and sells wine to our A in Ararat's Sister city, Taishan.

In 2006 Graeme and Carolyn purchased Mast Hill.

Established by Trevor and Sandra Mast in the late seventies, Mast Hill vineyard was planted with Riesling and Chardonnay vines. Trevor, now recognised as an Australian Wine Legend, studied at Giesenheimin Germany before returning to Australia. His legacy is continued by Graeme and Carolyn Bertuch who purchased Mast Hill in 2006.
