Tasting notes
Mid garnet with deep purple hues, the 2004 Shiraz from Mt Cole exhibits lush, rich ripe aromas of blackberries, fruitcake, a whiff of violets and toasty ‘pencil shaving’ French oak. The palate is medium-bodied and displays great texture and weight, with blackberry and mulberry fruits, spice and toasty oak all coming to the fore.
The structure is firm and full with ample tannins, and the palate very long. Certainly exuberant in its youth, this wine will continue to evolve and should reward patient cellaring. Enjoy until 2015.
The 2005 Collectors Edition Shiraz is due out later in the year. It follows in the footsteps of this great wine.
