“Off the Beaten Track” Shiraz (2004)

The grapes for this wine were grown at Mount Cole. This wine is mid-garnet in colour with deep purple hues.

Tasting notes

Mid garnet with deep purple hues, the 2004 Shiraz from Mt Cole exhibits lush, rich ripe aromas of blackberries, fruitcake, roasted meats and just a feint whiff of violets that is very appealing. The medium-bodied palate displays great texture and weight, with dark fruits, spice and toasty oak all coming to the fore. The structure is firm and full with ample tannins, and the palate very long.

Cellaring

Certainly exuberant in its youth, this wine will continue to evolve and should reward patient cellaring for the next two years. Enjoy until 2011.
