Around the area
Mount Cole State forest is just as beautiful as the Grampians - with the added delight of being free of the crowds and tourists of the popular Grampians area. Mount Cole has many wonderful camping sites, amazing walks, waterfalls and incredible views.
It is also a popular destination for hang gliders!
Plants, wildlife and birds abound this area - with many rare birds being spotted in this area - such as Powerful Owls, Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos, eagles and hawks. There are over 130 species of birds sighted in this area. Wildlife includes wallabies, echidnas, koalas and possums.
Walking
